EXCAVATOR / MATERIAL HANDLER OPERATOR

Cevons Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Excavator / Material Handler Operator to join our Scrap Metal Operations team.

- Operate excavators/material handlers for the loading, unloading, sorting and movement of scrap metal.

- Feed scrap metal safely and efficiently into processing equipment.

- Load scrap metal into trucks and containers.

- Separate and stockpile ferrous and non-ferrous materials as directed.

- Perform daily pre-start inspections and report equipment defects immediately.

- Maintain safe operating distances from employees, trucks and other equipment.

- Follow all company HSE and equipment operating procedures.

- Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient scrap yard.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years’ experience operating excavator equipment

• Valid operator’s certification or license (where required)

• Experience in construction, landfill, or industrial operations preferred.

• Applicants will be required to complete a practical operating test as part of the recruitment process.

- Previous experience operating an excavator or similar heavy equipment.

- Scrap yard/material handling experience would be a strong advantage.

- Good equipment control and awareness when handling heavy or irregular materials.

- Ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment.

- Willingness to work extended hours when operations require.

- Reliable, responsible and able to follow instructions.
