Description

The Operations Coordinator (OC) manages logistics, administrative workflows, and team communication to ensure daily business activities run smoothly. Their duties will include overseeing scheduling, monitoring performance metrics, and acting as the main point of contact for clients and different departments.

The role focuses on developing robust operational workflows, aligning internal processes with client-specific objectives, and supporting the successful execution of company operations.

The Operations Coordinator is expected to be a confident, resourceful, and a proactive professional who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and strong organizational skills. Working closely with the Operations Manager and other key stakeholders, the OC supports Management in navigating the complex dynamics of Guyana's Oil and energy sector while fostering personnel development, strengthening client relationships, and maintaining operational excellence.

 The role also has responsibility for coordinating activities across key operational areas, including logistics, recruitment, visa and immigration services, and business development. In addition, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for monitoring operational performance, generating meaningful management information, and preparing internal and statutory Local Content reports, including the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs). Through effective coordination and continuous improvement, the OC plays a vital role in ensuring compliance, supporting sustainable business growth, and delivering high-quality service to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in a senior capacity managing logistics, resources and personnel.

  • A degree or diploma in a related field is desired.

  • In-depth knowledge of the local Oil and Gas industry inclusive of Local Content guidelines and compliance.

  • Valid Guyanese driver’s license and passport. Willingness to travel if needed.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Possession of valid offshore certificates (TBOSIET, OEUK medical etc.)  is advantageous.

  • Able to create and deliver engaging presentations and speak publicly

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms

Responsibilities

  • Operational Support –Provide high-level operational oversight and support to the Company across key frontline functions, including Logistics, Recruitment, Visa & Immigration Services, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and professional delivery of services to clients and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Collaborations – works closely with the Operations Manager and Management Team to develop and execute the Company’s long-term operational strategy. Provides high-level oversight and guidance to each department within the Company. Collaborate to develop and implement efficient operational processes and procedures to optimize productivity.

  • Compliance & Risk Management - Maintains a strong focus on quality control, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (Local Content Compliance, Maritime Labor Convention (MLC) audits and other industry or client specific frameworks. This includes accurate record-keeping and regular checks to ensure strict adherence.

  • Emergency Response - Plays an active role in the planning, coordination, and execution of emergency response activities, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with company emergency response procedures. Participate in the emergency on-call rota with other designated key personnel, providing timely support and decision-making during operational incidents and emergencies. Conduct site visits to clients, ports, shore bases and other facilities related to Oil and Gas.

  • Vendor & Supply Chain Management - Attend / join virtual and in-person seminars, workshops and vendor engagement forums relative to operations. Provide Business Development initiatives for new and existing clients.

  • People & Culture - Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the organization. Lead diversity and inclusion efforts, ensuring that the workplace environment is welcoming and supportive for all employees.

  • Reporting - Generate operational progress reports and forecasts.

  • Knowledge or previous experience dealing with Visa & Immigration entry and exit protocols, especially applicable to expats, seafarers and offshore workers is an advantage
