To provide maintenance, support, and technical guidance for the Gaming Authority's systems and facilities.
Diploma in Computer Science or relevant field
Proven experience in Information Technology
MUST be CompTIA + and/or CompTIA Net+ Certified or equivalent certificate
Experience as a functionary in the gambling regulatory body for another jurisdiction would be an asset
Experience in LAN/WAN networks
Setup hardware and install and configure software
Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g., routers) or peripheral devices
Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPS, etc.)
Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
Manage, monitor and maintain servers, printers, email and other messaging services, local networked printing services, data storage, access to network services
The Gaming Authority of Guyana was launched on December 1, 2008, in accordance with section 32(1) of the Gambling Prevention (Amendment) Act Cap 9:02. The main functions of the Authority are set out in Section 32 of Cap 9:02. These functions include, overseeing, supervising, regulating and guiding the gaming sector in Guyana. Moreover, the Gaming Authority is the appointed Supervisory Authority for casino, betting shops and lotteries under the Anti-money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism Act Cap 10:11.
