Description

The Server is responsible for delivering outstanding service to all guests in the restaurant, bar, or room service settings. He/She ensures prompt and accurate service, maintains cleanliness and order in the dining areas, and provides a professional and friendly experience that reflects the hospitality standards of the hotel.

Requirements

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a customer service or food and beverage role.

  • Previous work in hotels, restaurants, or bars is a strong asset.

  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic billing processes.

  • Experience with high-volume or fine dining environments preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Guest Service

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional manner.

  • Present menus and explain daily specials or promotions.

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders.

  • Serve meals and drinks promptly and correctly.

  • Check on guest satisfaction during their meal.

  • Respond quickly and courteously to guest needs and complaints.

  • Thank guests, offer farewells, and invite them to return.


2. Order Accuracy & Communication

  • Enter orders accurately into the POS (Point-of-Sale) system.

  • Communicate special requests or allergies clearly to the kitchen or bar.

  • Ensure food and beverages are delivered as ordered.

  • Coordinate timing with the kitchen for large tables or multiple courses.


3. Dining Area Maintenance

  • Set up tables with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments.

  • Keep tables and chairs clean and organized.

  • Clear and reset tables efficiently after each guest.

  • Restock service stations with napkins, utensils, and condiments.

  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the dining area and service zones.


4. Bar & Beverage Service (If Applicable)

  • Take and serve drink orders, including alcohol, responsibly.

  • Communicate and coordinate with bartenders.


5. Room Service

  • Answer and process room service orders.

  • Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms promptly and politely.


6. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with other waitstaff, kitchen, and bar teams.

  • Support colleagues during peak hours or large functions.



7. Health, Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow all sanitation and food safety procedures.

  • Wash hands regularly and use gloves when appropriate.

  • Keep work areas clean and free from hazards.

  • Report spills, equipment issues, or safety concerns promptly.
