The HSE Officer’s purpose is to support a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace by ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, identifying and controlling risks and promoting continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental practices.
NEBOSH Certificate from Accredited Institution.
At least 3 years in the technical environment with exposure to Operations, Control and Management, HSE and Process Safety.
ASP/CSP qualification and any other valid Safety related membership may be considered an asset.
Champion safety initiatives within the Company.
Assist in the efforts of the organization to ensure compliance to the Company’s, OSH and Environmental policy and industry standards.
Maintain awareness of evolving industry HSE regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company’s operations.
Review of HSE policies and procedures to ensure relevance to the goals of the Company.
Review of facility’s Risk Assessment with the Supervisor to ensure all current HSE statutory legislation is met.
Assist the leadership team to develop, manage and monitor the HSE performance of the company.
Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding HSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
Conduct HSE training courses using internal and external resources when required.
Ensure HSE requirements are met through continuous follow-up with relevant parties.
Generation of HSE summary reports to Management.
Promote and actively build a high performing HSE culture.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
To actively engage in all training provided (internal and external).
