Description

The HSE Officer’s purpose is to support a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace by ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, identifying and controlling risks and promoting continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental practices.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate from Accredited Institution.

  • At least 3 years in the technical environment with exposure to Operations, Control and Management, HSE and Process Safety.

  • ASP/CSP qualification and any other valid Safety related membership may be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety initiatives within the Company.

  • Assist in the efforts of the organization to ensure compliance to the Company’s, OSH and Environmental policy and industry standards.

  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry HSE regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company’s operations.

  • Review of HSE policies and procedures to ensure relevance to the goals of the Company.

  • Review of facility’s Risk Assessment with the Supervisor to ensure all current HSE statutory legislation is met.

  • Assist the leadership team to develop, manage and monitor the HSE performance of the company.

  • Liaise with Customers and Supply Chain, regarding HSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met.

  • Conduct HSE training courses using internal and external resources when required.

  • Ensure HSE requirements are met through continuous follow-up with relevant parties.

  • Generation of HSE summary reports to Management.

  • Promote and actively build a high performing HSE culture.

  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

  • To actively engage in all training provided (internal and external).
