We’re searching for an individual with cross-functional capabilities to fill the role of Customer Service/ Operations Support in our new Guyana office. Reporting to the Manager (Roy Ramdeo), the chosen individual will be responsible for assisting the team in the development and execution of an Operations Excellence strategy across all business units to drive operational effectiveness and deliver best in class customer experience throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum, High School completion with five (5) subjects (must have English and Math)

• Minimum 3 years’ working experience.

• Excellent time management skills

• Detail-oriented and strong communication skills.

• Teamwork, tact and good interpersonal skills.

• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

• Numeracy and accuracy.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

• Valid driver’s license (an asset)

  • Handle customer inquiries in a timely manner (emails, phone calls etc.)

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.

  • Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods/tools.

  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents.

  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.

  • Generate sales leads.

  • Scan documents, prepare letters and documentation as needed.

  • Prepare rate quotations for freight transportation inquiries as needed.

  • Negotiate the most cost-effective forms of transportation (e.g. trucks, ships, and airplanes) to move the cargo safely and efficiently if needed.

  • Inform clients of factors such as shipping options, timelines, transfers, or regulations affecting shipments in a timely manner

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant political situations, or other factors that could affect freight shipping.

  • Arrange insurance and assist the customer in the event of a claim if needed.

  • Organize and coordinate the transport of cargo from its point of origin to destination.

  • Assist in completing shipping documentation, such as airway bills, bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, and certificates of origin etc. as needed.

  • Utilize technology and systems to enable real-time tracking of goods and communicate same to customers constantly.

  • Assist clients in obtaining insurance reimbursements, if needed.

  • Make arrangements with customs brokers to facilitate the clearance of goods through customs.

  • Arrange payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the customer.

  • Liaise and consult with customers, suppliers, and management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
