Overall Responsibilities:
The Electronics Service technician works with and repairs consumer electronic equipment for the Giftronics Electronics store. This applies to all electronic equipment sold and owned by the store. The Electronics Service technician will also offer offsite services to customer with regards to installation and honoring warranty conditions.
Job Requirements/Specifications
Education: Diploma in Electronics or similar field.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years similar experience at an established Organization
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
1. Repair all electronic equipment as required by the Giftronics store. This includes but is not limited to the following categories of items.
· Consumer Electronics
· Televisions
· Small & Large Home Appliances
· Vehicle Audio Systems
· Home Audio Systems
· Air Conditioning Units
2. Perform onsite installation services for the Stores Customers as needed.
3. Must be able to inspect and test electronic equipment using multimeters, circuit testers and oscilloscopes with the aim of diagnosing equipment faults.
4. Perform repairs for electronic equipment owned by the Giftland Group of Companies.
5. Offer technical advice to the Store’s buying team.
6. Offer a high level of customer service at all times to customers.
7. Ensure all jobs are entered into the ticketing system.
8. Ensure ticketing system is reviewed and all jobs are completed within defined timelines.
9. Communicate effectively to store management through weekly reports on the status of repair jobs.
10. Make recommendations on improving the services department.
11. Assist with sales on the floor when required.
12. Always keep repairs room in an acceptable condition.
13. Ensure all equipment that require services are treated in accordance to best practices and are handled with care.
14. Make recommendations of tools required to perform repair services efficiently.
15. Participate in the technician on-call stand-by rotation as required.
16. Document and account for tools at all times
