ROUSTABOUT

A roustabout is an entry-level position in the oil and gas industry that involves manual labor and physical tasks.

Safe and proper rigging and slinging of all loads lifted and moved by all cranes unloading and loading supplies and other lifting equipment. Support the drill crew with supplied tubular and related drilling equipment. General maintenance work includes cleaning, chipping, and painting the rig and equipment.

• Basic Safety Training (OPITO) is preferred but training can be given.

• Banksman Slinging) is preferred but training can be given.

• Secondary Education

• Ensure good operational communication.

• Knowledge of Health and Safety is preferred but training can be provided.

•  Assist in assembling and dismantling oil rigs or drilling equipment.

• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.

• Help move and load pipes, tools, and other equipment.

• Perform general labor tasks as directed by supervisors.

• General maintenance work includes cleaning, chipping, and painting the rig and equipment.

• Carry out housekeeping duties around the unit as requested.

• Assists with the mixing of chemicals under supervision.

• Relieve on the Drill floor as directed by the supervisor. 

• Operate machinery as instructed under the supervisor’s instructions.

• Carry out fire watch duties for the welder as requested.

• Pressure wash equipment, deck area, or any other related equipment stated by the immediate supervisor.
